The most common way to implement a custom dictionary is to add it from an existing file. For detailed instructions, click the following link: Adding Custom Dictionaries.
Another method involves creating a custom dictionary from within E-Transcript Editor and then typing new words manually and/or importing a text file into the dictionary.
To add a new dictionary:
Click the transcript you want to edit.
Click the Edit
E-Transcript button (). The E-Transcript Editor
opens.
Click the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Spelling tab.
Click the Custom Dictionaries button.
Click the New button. The New Dictionary dialog box opens.
Type a name for the file in the field at the top of the dialog box and select a language.
Click the OK button. You are returned to the Custom Dictionaries dialog box and the recently added dictionary is selected.
To add terms to the new dictionary:
Click the transcript you want to edit.
Click the Edit
E-Transcript button (). The E-Transcript Editor
opens.
Click the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Spelling tab.
Click the Custom Dictionaries button.
Verify the dictionary you want to modify is highlighted. If it is not highlighted, click the name of the dictionary you want to modify.
Click the Modify button on the Custom Dictionaries dialog box.
Type a word and then click the Add Word button.
Type another word and then click the Add Word button.
To import terms into the new dictionary from a pre-existing dictionary file:
Click the transcript you want to edit.
Click the Edit
E-Transcript button (). The E-Transcript Editor
opens.
Click the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Spelling tab.
Click the Custom Dictionaries button.
Verify the dictionary you want to modify is highlighted. If it is not highlighted, click the name of the dictionary you want to modify.
Click the Modify button on the Custom Dictionaries dialog box.
Click the Import button.
Navigate to the directory where the file resides that you want to import, click the name of the file, and then click the Open button.
