Occasionally (for example, after a new release of the application) you may be prompted to install an updated version of Reporter Edition. This may occur when you are sending a transcript or when you click Tools and then click Receive. The process is automated.
There are other times, however, when you may need to update the software on your own. For example, you may acquire a new computer and need to install Reporter Edition on it. To complete this task you need to visit the My RealLegal Web site.
Use the following procedure:
Close Reporter Edition if it is open.
Type your My RealLegal user ID and password. The Welcome page opens.
Beneath the Mailbox column, click the name of the production department to which you send transcripts.
Note: At this point, be sure to look below the address bar in Internet Explorer. If it says the site requires an ActiveX control, click the message and then click Install ActiveX Control and follow the directions on the screen. The ActiveX control installs Reporter Edition. Without the ActiveX control, Reporter Edition will not install.
Click Install E-Transcript Reporter Edition for this mailbox. Reporter Edition installs.
When prompted, type your My RealLegal password and then click OK.
