Reporter Edition enables reporters to import transcripts, edit transcripts, attach turn-in sheets to transcripts, sign transcripts electronically, and send them to E-Transcript Manager over the secure My RealLegal network, without using a traditional e-mail application. You, in turn, using E-Transcript Manager, can edit transcripts and send them back to reporters when necessary.
When you activate E-Transcript Manager, you receive:
E-Transcript Signatures that you can distribute to reporters.
Reporter Edition licenses that you can distribute to reporters.
A Mailbox to process transcripts from reporters.
You need to send Reporter Edition licenses to all reporters who will be sending you transcripts. Reporters cannot purchase Reporter Edition. They must either own E-Transcript Manager or receive Reporter Edition licenses from production departments.
When a reporter sends you a transcript from Reporter Edition, a message indicates the transcript is in your E-Transcript Manager Inbox:
To see the transcript, double-click your Mailbox name and then click the Inbox:
The RealLegal Mailbox is the conduit between E-Transcript Manager and Reporter Edition. The Mailbox resides on secure servers at My RealLegal. The Mailbox passes transcripts back and forth between you and reporters, allowing you to bypass firewalls that tend to block transcripts when sent by traditional e-mail software.
My RealLegal (https://my.reallegal.com/) is a central Web site, requiring a single password, from which you can access RealLegal Web-based services, which include not only applications related to E-Transcript Reporter Edition but also tools for attorneys and individual court reporters.
You may have created a RealLegal account in the past, or you may have created it when you registered E-Transcript Manager. The user ID and password you create for My RealLegal allows you to log in to the E-Transcript Signatures page as well. Likewise, if you do not have a My RealLegal account and go straight to the E-Transcript Signatures Web page (https://sign.reallegal.com/), click Enroll Now and enroll with E-Transcript Signatures, the user ID and password you create works for My RealLegal.
Note: Please do not create multiple My RealLegal accounts. It causes confusion for you and RealLegal Technical Support. If you think you have a My RealLegal account but cannot remember your user name, contact subscriptions@reallegal.com.
The Mailbox: For security purposes,
the Mailbox is accessible only through RealLegal E-Transcript Manager;
outsiders cannot view the Mailbox, and the Mailbox is not listed as an
option on the My RealLegal Web site. Access to the Mailbox requires a
user ID and password. Reporter Edition sends transcripts and turn-in sheets
to the Mailbox. The Mailbox, in turn, sends the items to E-Transcript
Manager. The interaction between RealLegal E-Transcript Manager and Mailbox
is automated. New transcripts from Reporter Edition are forwarded to you
every 15 minutes. Or, you can click the Check Mailbox button (
) on the toolbar to check for transcripts.
Signatures: When you subscribe to RealLegal Unlimited Workflow or RealLegal Unlimited Multimedia, E-Transcript Signatures are provided as part of the subscription.
How to Obtain More Signatures: If you run out of E-Transcript Signatures, contact subscriptions@reallegal.com and request that more signatures be added to your signature billing account.
