Official Transcripts from The People of the State of California vs. Michael Jackson
Available for Download from www.exemplaris.com
DENVER (February 25, 2004) - Aurora-based RealLegal, LLC, which develops litigation and practice management software for legal organizations, today announced that RealLegal Exemplaris, its online transcript repository, was selected to house the electronic transcripts for the People of the State of California v. Michael Joe Jackson alleged molestation case.
The parties have agreed to return to the Santa Maria Courthouse on April 2, 2004, for the scheduling of a preliminary hearing, after which Santa Barbara County Superior Court Judge Rodney S. Melville will decide whether the case will proceed to trial.
The official court reporter creating these transcripts has authorized RealLegal Exemplaris to manage the electronic distribution of the transcripts to media and other interested parties. The official court reporter will upload the transcripts of all trial proceedings daily to RealLegal Exemplaris for secure and immediate dissemination.
End-users may search RealLegal Exemplaris at no cost. Transcripts can then be purchased online at the court-mandated page rates and immediately downloaded.
Michael Jackson’s worldwide stardom and equally pervasive fan base have amplified the attention given to this case. With zealous fans, media and the general public scrutinizing the case, there has already been unprecedented demand for information about the court proceedings. RealLegal Exemplaris will relieve court staff from the administrative burden associated with a proceeding of this nature and allow them to focus instead on their daily work responsibilities.
RealLegal Exemplaris was also recently chosen to store and distribute transcripts from the People of the State of Colorado v. Kobe Bean Bryant, United States of America v. Martha Stewart, People of the State of California v. Robert Blake, and People of the State of New Jersey v. Jayson Williams. RealLegal Exemplaris was also chosen by the court reporting staffs in both Stanislaus County and San Mateo County in California to manage the transcripts from People of the State of California v. Scott Lee Peterson
The demands of high profile cases have lead to greater adoption by State and Federal courts of online archives as their storage and distribution system for transcripts.
